Background of co-organiser
UNICEF, United Nations Children’s Fund, is the world’s leading UN organization working for children. The Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) was founded in 1986. As one of the national committees for UNICEF, we organize fundraising and advocacy activities to provide support for UNICEF’s programmes across over 190 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive.
Project details
As an echo to UNICEF’s global campaign on Early Child Development, UNICEF HK is planning a community engagement event (21 March 2018 – 15 April 2018) at a shopping mall in Tsueng Kwan O, targeting young parents and kids. The setting includes operating a loose part playground, photo booths, children’s drawing wall and simulation of play ideas.
Student facilitators are expected to support the UNICEF HK’s Advocacy and Public Relation Department on:
- Assisting in event preparation and operation, e.g. ceremony and weekend workshops;
- Providing on-site and logistic support e.g. volunteer briefing, guidance to parents; and
- Assisting in engaging children, parents and other members of general public and monitoring safety.
