Funded by Hang Seng Bank, St. James’ Settlement Youth Portal “I am…” is a one-stop digital platform in career planning, bringing the experience to a brand new level by adopting Chatbot & big data. The signature feature in the mobile app is Online Mentoring Chatbot. Whenever the mentees make enquiries about studies or career aspects, the system would automatically match the mentees with mentors with relevant background for following one-on-one consultation through the mobile app.
In the Online Mentoring Programme, PGDE students will have an interview and receive a 18-hour training workshop (12-hour face-to-face-mode + 6-hour distance learning mode) before registering as an online mentor. The training includes knowledge and skills of youth service, application of the mobile app and self-reflection on career path, etc. After attending the training, PGDE students will have to mentor and provide advice on academic or career aspects to at least 10 mentees by April 2019.
