Environmental Monitoring in Vietnam

Project details

This project will develop students’ understanding and skills of environmental monitoring, scientific research and environmental education in an authentic overseas context. Students will work in groups to carry out a Biodiversity Ecosystem Environmental Science Expedition in a Vietnam national park, and learn how to support college students in carrying out scientific research. All participants will be supported by the course instructor, their peers and the collaborating institutions. No specific knowledge on environmental monitoring and/or environmental education is required; but basic scientific knowledge and skills up to secondary level are necessary.


  • June to August 2018
  • A 10-day work experience in a Vietnam national Park from late July to early August, 2018




Students from the BEd&BSc and BSc programmes (No. of places: 15)


Register BBED6791 Environmental Monitoring in Vietnam via SIS. Students will earn 6 credits after successful completion of the course.

Application Deadline

Online course enrollment period in Summer Semester, 2017-18


Funding from Gallant Ho Experiential Learning Centre will be available to support part of students’ expenses.
