Ednovators is a charitable platform in Hong Kong working collaboratively with education practitioners and tri-sector pioneers to catalyze innovations in education.
Founded in 2015 by a group of Hong Kong educators, creative practitioners as well education and social entrepreneurs, Ednovators has clear goals in education innovations which aims to co-create and foster a more student-centric learning environment for a younger generation in the 21st century and beyond.
Ednovators strives for practical innovations in education. Through collaboration with education and tri-sector pioneers, we call for an enabling learning environment for students who develop and learn in different ways and at a different pace, as well as nurture change makers for innovations in education.

Students participating in this EL programme will support the following 2 projects:
‘InnoPower@JC: Fellowship for Teachers’
This project is funded and initiated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Fellowship targets at empowering teachers as change-makers to drive innovation in education. The program provides an array of local and overseas learning opportunities and an optimal environment for teachers to strengthen their hands-on knowledge, enrich their international perspective and develop their innovative capability. The Teacher Fellows will develop and implement innovative education initiatives and build an innovative culture on campus.
Nine teachers and fourteen teachers from subsidized and direct-subsidized secondary and primary schools in Hong Kong has started their change-making journey as the first two cohorts of Teacher Fellows. They are all passionate teachers who have come up with innovative ideas to address education needs in their schools. After they have gone through a 10-week sabbatical program in Jun 2017, the nine first cohort fellows have implemented their initial ideas in their own schools in the 2017/18 academic year and they will continuously work on their education innovation in different ways catering diverse needs of their students. The fourteen second cohort fellows, on the other hand, will consolidate their inspiration and insights gained and start their initiate to innovate on education in their schools in the 2018/19 academic year.
The 23 first and second cohort Teacher Fellows have different ideas for education innovation which covers topics that include:
- Positive education
- Well-being in education
- Maker education
- Students’ empowerment
- Self-directed learning
- 21st century core competencies
- Entrepreneurship education
- Innovation in curriculum and pedagogies
- Career planning
- Cooperative culture in the school
- Physical fitness kit for students with special needs

Jockey Club ‘Ednovation Fest’
Jockey Club ‘Ednovation Fest’ (‘the Fest’) is a pioneer showcase of local and global innovations in education. Year-round events include seminars and panel discussions led by local and overseas scholars and social and education pioneers, workshops and incubation programs, which aim to catalyze education innovations.
By exhibiting local and global innovation in schools with teachers and students, the Fest facilitates dialogues between schools and tri-sector pioneers to co-create betterment in education through innovations.
This year’s theme is “Unite and Reinvent Education!”. The Fest calls for more collaborations to catalyze innovations in education in response to the changing needs in and for the 21st century and beyond. The three focuses of Ednovation Fest are: Learning Diversity, Multiple Pathways, and Teaching & Learning Innovation.
The Fest is co-organized by Ednovators, EDiversity, Good Lab and HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, and generously supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Details of work for PGDE students
The candidate will work with the team to organize and promote events, particularly the Experiential Days to be held on Nov 24-25, 2018. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with the team, service providers and the public, and should be able to communicate in an articulate manner both verbally and in writing. The duties of the role include:
- Conduct research on education innovation
- Co-work with the teacher fellows to consolidate their insights and experiences along the change-making process;
- Support teaching of the teacher fellows;
- Support research and documentation of innovative teaching & learning for the teacher fellows;
- Assist in the organization of Ednovation Fest, for examples:
- Coordinate and collect materials for event and marketing collaterals from different parties.
- Assist the production of event and materials for promotion.
- Assisting the preparation of reports for analysis.
- Other ad hoc assignments as required by the team
