Central & Western District Community Learning Program

Background of co-organiser

Big Unites Small Publishing Company Limited was established in 2018 and is the Hong Kong Children’s Learning Resources publisher. It is committed to publishing high quality books, educational tools, specialty teaching materials and children’s publications for primary school students, parents and schools.

With the mission of cultivating children’s motivation and providing a happy learning experience, it promotes reading and encourages children to read more, think more, create more, and care more about social issues. At the same time, it also promotes various types of cultural activities, including cultural lectures, book introductions, and story sharing sessions.

Project details

This project aims to promote good use of community public space and resources, as well as providing various types of community activities to the public and schools. It can also provide opportunities for passionate young people to develop their skills.

Kennedy Town Kai-Fong Welfare Association will be the platform of this project to gather community resources and provide various support and activities. The activities organized in this programme contain three main elements: (1) parent-child education activities, (2) resource sharing and (3) encourage experiential community learning of Hong Kong Issues.

Participants in the project are required to:

  • Attend a training of 1-1.5 hour (time to be negotiated with the co-organizer),
  • design 2 community tours of around 3 hours in central and western district,
  • lead 2 the parent-child tours (the designs will be share amongst all the tour leaders in this programme, there for you may lead tours of your own design or designed by other participants.),
  • evaluate the programme with the community partner.

*Outstanding design would have the chance to be published in Big Unites Small Publishing Company Limited’s publication with credits to the designer of the education materials.
